Godfrey Reggio - qatsi Trilogy [1982-1988-2002] [DVDRip]

Koyaanisqatsi is a documentary film directed by Godfrey Reggio, 1982, followed by two subsequent parts, Powaqqatsi (1988) and Naqoyqatsi (2002).

During the late '70s, Godfrey Reggio, employed at the Institute for Regional Education, began working on a documentary with as a reason underlying the innovative nature and modern life.

In 1976 he and Ron Fricke begin shooting the film, which will require six years of shooting, editing, reshoots and replacements before they are completed. Fundamental component for the film is the music composed by Philip Glass.

The peculiarity of the film is the complete absence of dialogue. The film guides the viewer through a journey that begins with nature was then passed on to human and becomes ever more hectic, all highlighted with a very catchy soundtrack.

Koyaanisqatsi is a Hopi word of American Indian language and means "life in turmoil."

Koyaanisqatsi is the first film of the trilogy qatsi the other two films are: *

Powaqqatsi (1988) *
Naqoyqatsi (2002)

In 2000 he was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress the United States.
